Highlights and Lowlights
Despite a few earnings bright spots, US stock markets tumbled amid renewed inflation fears as well as growing concerns of a Russian invasion of Ukraine. January’s Consumer Price Index (CPI) report showed that inflation rose faster than expected, which investors fear might mean that more aggressive interest hikes from the Fed are on the way.
The DJ30 and SPX500 slipped -1.0% and -1.8% respectively, while the NSDQ100 fell 2.2%.
