LONDON, 5 March 2024 – eToro, the trading and investing platform, is working with BlackRock [NYSE: BLK] to offer eToro users access to core investing solutions through five new Smart Portfolios.
eToro is now offering its users pre-built portfolios that provide a choice of investments risk preferences using cost efficient iShares ETF building blocks across several asset classes, such as stocks and bonds, to give access to BlackRock’s asset allocation. Investors can choose portfolios that can be more conservative, which include a higher proportion of bond assets or higher risk, which hold more equity investments.
Carefully constructing each portfolio with a specific type of investor in mind, eToro has allocated assets to each portfolio assessing factors such as predisposition to growth, stability and risk appetite, while also considering changing global economic and market conditions. BlackRock will provide asset allocation guidance to eToro to build the Core Portfolios.
Blending eToro’s innovative trading and investing solutions with BlackRock’s asset allocation expertise, each portfolio comprises 10-25 iShares ETFs and will be rebalanced up to six times a year. The five new portfolios are:
Core Portfolio | Risk appetite | Investment strategy |
Core Income | Conservative | Provides stability and consistent income with a longer investment horizon. |
Core Stability | Low to moderate | Balances growth and income, with a focus on long-term wealth accumulation. |
Core Moderate | Moderate | Balances growth with some risk for potential returns, with a focus on long-term gains. |
Core Dynamic | Moderate to high | Seeks aggressive growth, enduring market volatility to maximise returns over the long term. |
Core Equity | High | Prioritises growth via significant risk, with a focus on long-term capital appreciation. |
“Introducing core investing portfolios to eToro’s platform marks a significant addition in our product offering. Through these new portfolios, we can empower our users to build a robust core allocation, laying a stable and risk-managed foundation for their investments,” explained Dani Brinker, Head of Investment Portfolios at eToro.
“We are excited to provide our users with five portfolios powered by BlackRock, one of the world’s leading providers of investment, advisory and risk management solutions. This collaboration isn’t just about adding another feature, it’s about fundamentally enhancing the way our users access long term investing, providing them with the tools to grow their wealth.”
Initial investment in the portfolios starts from USD $500 and investors can access tools and charts to track each portfolio’s performance. eToro’s social feed will keep them up-to-date on developments. Initially, these portfolios will be available to eToro users in select European countries, including Austria, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Liechtenstein, Sweden, and in the UK. These portfolios are not available to US users.
