Last Monday, we’ve unveiled the amazing new feed on eToro OpenBook! However, that wasn’t the end of it: We’re now happy to present some major improvements on other fronts.
Copy the Trader not the trade
Our popular investors each have their own unique trading or investing methods, copying just a small part of each investor’s system rather than copying all of that investor’s trades, without having the investor’s point of view of the “big picture”, is probably a bad idea and usually leads to losses. Therefore, we’ve eliminated the ability to copy a single trade from within the eToro OpenBook feed.
Public Portfolio – Complete Redesign
The public portfolio has been completely redesigned to fit the recently changed “My Portfolio”, so now you can easily see other investors’ portfolio market allocation and performance:
Notice that for the first time, you can now see the percentage of cash balance out of the investor’s equity. This helps in assessing the risk the investor takes in his or her trading.
New Exposure Mode
OK, you copied some popular investors, and placed some manual trades. Now – where do you want Gold to go – up or down? what about EUR/USD or GBP/USD? Hard to tell isn’t it? especially if you are copying very active investors…
Enter “Exposure” Mode – either on “My Portfolio” or the new “Public Portfolio”. From now on, you can see an aggregated view of net positions for each market that include manual trades AND copied trades. All you have to do is click “Exposure” from the drop down menu in your (or any other investor’s) portfolio.
The “Buying” and “Selling” labels represent the direction of the net position. So in the example above, this investor is net “Long” on Gold with 19.6% of his equity (combining his manual and copied trades), meaning he/she probably wants Gold to move up.
Diversify, Diversify Diversify
Diversification is the cornerstone of responsible investing, long term profitability and of minimizing risk to you investments. We encourage you to diversify, and in order to assist you with your diversification efforts we’ve added the new diversity alert to your and other investor’s portfolios.
If your portfolio is highly exposed to any given asset or market type you will receive an alert suggesting you should diversify. The same goes for other investors, so when you look at a potential investor to copy, you’d immediately see if his or her portfolio is too risky, poorly diversified or highly exposed to one asset or market type.
My Portfolio – Mobile Web
We’ve adjusted the “my portfolio” page on our mobile website and it now has cool new features that makes it look more like our native mobile apps:
– New simple and easy to use Filter Button.
– Combined Markets and People view (“All”).
– All views now feature the Profit(%) or Current Profit($) for each item.
Go check out these features on eToro OpenBook now and we’d love to get your feedback!
