Hey everyone,
My name is Eyal, I’m the new Product Manager here at eToro and happy to join the team. This is my first of many blog posts intended to communicate how my department and I are helping to build and improve this amazing social investment network.
And now, for the big news!
The new eToro OpenBook version that we’ve just released is focused on expanding your sharing ability on the eToro Openbook, Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn. You can now share interesting posts from eToro users, Trade Stories and see how your Facebook friends rank compared to yourself.
1. Share interesting posts on eToro, Facebook, Twitter and Linkedin
You can now share interesting posts, rich media (photos, videos, links) and activities not just on your feed, but also on Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn.
The share link appears at the bottom of the post:
Clicking the share link will open a popup allowing you to add your thoughts and comments. The item will be shared on your eToro OpenBook feed and any other social network of your choice:
2. Share your Trade Story
We’ve change the Trade Story pop-up giving it a cleaner simpler look. When you close a profitable trade/investment or an open trade that has a positive gain so far, you can share this good news with your friends on Facebook.
To do so, click on the “Trade Story” link on your feed:
This is the new look of the Trade Story window. You can post it on Facebook by clicking the share button:
The Trade Story is then added to your Facebook timeline. Here’s what it will look like:
You can also share your Trade Story through any of these options (for positive gains):
- Profile -> Portfolio Tab –
-
Profile -> Portfolio tab -> Open Trades –
-
Profile -> Portfolio tab -> History –
3. Challenge your Facebook friends
You can now view the rankings of your Facebook friends (based on Last 30 days gain), compare your performance and share your rank on Facebook.
On the right-hand side of your eToro OpenBook home page you can see the new My Friends widget. Once you connect with your friends, this is what it will look like:
Upon clicking the share icon, you will be able to add your comment:
Once you click “Share”, the post will be added to your Facebook timeline:

As always, we’d love to hear from you and get your feedback on these new updates in the comments below.
