Tell us a little about yourself. What do you do for a living? What are your hobbies?
My name is Tatyana, and I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Management and a Master’s in Economics in Accounting, Financial Analysis and auditing.
I work as a deputy director at a university in my city. My responsibilities include coordination of innovative projects of our institute.
I like to fly aeroplanes, play sports and relax near the sea.
What experience do you have in trading?
I began to get acquainted with the stock market in 2010. I have been investing on eToro for 4 years. In Russia, many people do not have financial literacy and are poorly educated in the investment world, saving their money by depositing in banks, because they do not know other ways to increase their capital.
What’s your strategy?
After almost 9 years of investment experience, I realised that individual companies can become bankrupt, but the entire market as a whole never will. This influenced my investment strategy. I have read many different books describing historical data and stock market behaviour.
My trading strategy involves asset allocation at the portfolio level, according to the principles of modern portfolio theory. With the help of my skills in speculative strategies for determining market phases by volume levels, I choose those places where it is necessary to unbalance the portfolio. Portfolio imbalance occurs at different time intervals from one to three months, depending on market conditions.
Why do you think eToro customers should copy you?
I understand the psychology of newcomers to investing: they come in with a small amount and try to guess where to invest their money with maximum leverage in order to quickly become rich. However, it is more like using roulette: if they make a small profit, they immediately withdraw it. Conversely, when they suffer a loss, they keep the trade open, until the account reaches zero.
My investment strategy may be suitable for both beginner and experienced investors who wish to diversify their investments. However, all individuals should assess their personal circumstances prior investing. The compound interest rule will allow investors to take advantage of the market and earn a profit year-over-year. Thanks to my current investments, I do not have major drawdowns, and the risk level always remains moderate.
After all, market risk is usually short-term and may decreases over time. The days in which the market “falls” are accounted for in my investment strategy. However, periods in which the market “grows” may be much longer, and earnings on these days might be much higher.
What are your goals for this year, and how do you plan to achieve them?
My goal for every year is to outperform the S&P 500 index. According to statistics, this is approximately an average of 10-15% per annum. Goals are achieved through the competent redistribution of assets in the portfolio.
What are the benefits of being a Popular Investor?
I like that my portfolio is public. I want people to see that investment is the key to a successful future. I know many people who are sceptical of investing, especially here in Russia. Some of my friends are among those people. Thanks to eToro, I have the opportunity to show them my results. Another advantage of becoming a Popular Investor is to be able to benefit other people. Moreover, of course, I’m motivated by the monthly payments available at the Rising Star level. This will help me achieve my investment goals much faster, so I will be able to bring even more benefits to myself and to other people around me.
