Tell us a little about yourself!
I’m a Glasgow-based Youtuber/Podcaster/Author and my passion is to help others create financial success and use money as a tool in their life to live out their passions too. I studied an MSC in Electronics & Electrical Engineering at the University of Glasgow, and my hobbies are reading, travelling, dancing and listening to music. I live in Glasgow with my husband, our two boys and our two rescue cats Millie & Tillie.
Tell us about your financial background.
I started in finance through experience and wanting to learn how to invest in the stock market for myself back in 2016. I had picked up a copy of I Will Teach You To Be Rich by Ramit Sethi and my eyes were opened to the potential of creating passive incomes through investing, but also growing our long-term wealth as a family too. Since joining eToro back in 2018, I have had the honour of studying and passing the CISI International Certificate in Wealth & Investment Management this year. Through my own journey of learning about investing, I also began sharing my experiences and knowledge in 2018 to present data through a Youtube channel and social media.
What is your strategy and have you changed it recently to adapt to the volatile markets?
I am a long-term investor, so about 90% of my portfolio on eToro is in globally diverse index trackers and sectors. I also hold a small amount of crypto and individual companies to give some additional opportunities for above-average growth in my portfolio. During all seasons of the stock market (up or down) my strategy is the same — I purchase long-term investments and use dollar-cost averaging strategy, so that regardless of what the value is, I am buying to hold for 5+yrs minimum.
How has eToro impacted the way you trade?
I really do enjoy the social aspect of eToro and the sense of community. I feel that I can help my copiers/followers on the platform by sharing information I am learning or applying to my own investment strategy as well as asking my fellow Popular Investors any questions. I have always found everyone on the platform very helpful. There is a sense of camaraderie in the common goal of everyone succeeding in their investment journey.
Which assets or industries do you have your eye on now?
The IT sector is always one that I am interested in for sure, given my background as well.
What was your favourite trade over the past 12 months?
I really do have a love for the IT sector, and for me, my favourite stocks right now are in the industry.
What is your long-term trading goal?
To build a sizable passive income for my family while also building generational wealth for the long-term future.
Any message to copiers or potential copiers?
I’m excited for the next stock market season ahead for us all — I believe that the stock market still remains a solid money habit for all people, and I hope to help many people who copy me with that goal to create long-term wealth.
