My name is Alexander Buckmaier, I am 29 years old from Germany and am currently a sales manager.
- Did you have previous experience with financial investments before joining eToro?
I have gained valuable experience in finance. I did a course with a financial advisory firm. Through this I gained insight into the topic of managing investments, and then I pursued this interest further in the subjects of money and asset management.
- Why did you choose to join eToro?
I started with eToro in December 2013. At that time I was curious in regards to social trading.

- How has eToro changed the way you trade?
Due to the social trading nature of the platform, it is important to manage risk. Therefore, it is important to apply strict risk and money management strategies.
- What is your type of trading strategy and what is it focused on?
I mainly trade large-cap stocks. These stocks must be on the market for at least 10 years and have consistently good performance. My strategy is short to medium term, which means my trading period per instrument ranges from a few days to several weeks. I analyze each chart before an instrument is traded. I use, among other things, the 200 day average line. As soon as the instrument crosses the 200 day line, a buy signal is generated. I define the price target by hand, with my own chart analysis. For every instrument I trade, you will find a chart analysis with my trading idea. Before copying me, I recommend exploring my profile and checking if it fits in with your own trading strategy and investment goals.
- What are the benefits of being a Popular Investor and what is your long-term goal?
By giving others the opportunity to participate in my strategies, eToro provides me the possibility of receiving a second income depending upon the number of copiers. My goal is to create a stable and faithful copying community for my portfolio in the coming weeks and months, and to maintain and expand the number of copiers in the long term.
- What are your hobbies?
As I sit in an office all day, I try and compensate by enjoying the outdoors and doing exercise. I do different sports depending on the season, for example, jogging, playing football or even going to the gym. I like to read books by successful people and from the financial world to expand and improve my knowledge.
