zkSync is a Layer-2 scaling solution for Ethereum. It was developed by Matter Labs, a company founded in 2019. zkSync utilises zero-knowledge proofs to bundle multiple transactions off-chain, thereby reducing costs and increasing throughput on the Ethereum network. Its core strength is its ability to provide a scalable and secure environment for decentralised applications without compromising on security.

zkSync employs zk-Rollups, a type of zero-knowledge proof technology, to achieve its scaling capabilities. This technology allows for the verification of transactions without revealing the underlying data. The platform continues to be developed with the aim of increasing capacity and adding more functionality to the ZK ecosystem.
