Workday Inc A is an American software vendor that offers cloud-based applications for financial and human resource management. Founded by Dave Duffield and Aneel Bhusari in 2005, the company is headquartered in Pleasanton, California. Formerly known as North Tahoe Power Tools, Inc., it changed its name to Workday Inc in July 2005. The company focuses on providing products that assist small, medium, and large businesses with optimising company operations such as payroll management, time tracking, talent management, data analysis, and human resource management, among other tasks.

Workday offers a mobile app providing secure access to its customers, primarily HR and finance departments. It is compatible with Android, IOS, and Windows operating systems. Its applications serve numerous industries, including healthcare, higher education, and professional services. It also serves clients in the life sciences, manufacturing, retail, and hospitality industries, as well as government agencies and non-profit organisations. In addition, the company has entered into a strategic partnership with Google to digitally transform enterprises worldwide.

Although initially trading on the NYSE, Workday transferred its listing to the NASDAQ on 19 September 2017, where it continues to trade publicly under the same ticker WDAY.
