Vistra Corp. is an integrated retail electricity and power generation company that provides energy utilities to residential, commercial, and industrial customers and communities. Founded in 1882, the company was initially known as Vistra Energy Corp. and changed its name to Vistra Corp in July 2020. Headquartered in Irving, Texas, the company mainly operates in the United States but serves markets in Canada and Japan as well.

The organisation has six segments, namely Retail, Texas, East, West, Sunset, and Asset Closure. Vistra supplies electricity and gas to customers throughout 20 states in the United States, as well as the District of Columbia. As of December 2021, the company serves approximately 4.3 million residential, commercial, and industrial retail customers and offers more than 50 renewable energy plans.

Vistra also engages in electricity generation, wholesale energy sales and purchases, commodity risk management, fuel production, and fuel logistics management functions. As of December 2021, the company has an estimated generation capacity of 38,700 megawatts with a portfolio consisting of natural gas, nuclear, coal, battery, and solar energy storage facilities. Vistra is publicly listed on the NYSE under the VST ticker.
