What Is Tanger Factory Outlet Centers Inc?
Founded in 1981, Tanger Factory Outlet Centers, Inc. specialises in acquiring, developing, and operating outlet shopping centres. The company is a fully integrated real estate investment trust (REIT) that is self-managed and self-administered. Tanger Factory Outlet Centers has two wholly owned subsidiaries through which all of its operations are conducted – Tanger GP Trust and Tanger LP Trust. The company has its headquarters in Greensboro, North Carolina, and has 520 employees, with locations across the US and Canada.

Tanger Factory Outlets Centers owns and operates 30 consolidated outlet centres with a combined rentable area above 11.5 million square feet. Additionally, it has an ownership interest in six unconsolidated outlet centres with a total of 2.1 million square feet of rentable space, with two of the centres located in Canada. Tanger’s outlet centres have a combined total of 2,500 stores with 500 different brands. The company focuses on high-end, open air locations and targets upscale businesses that need an outlet for unwanted stock or imperfect items.

Tanger Factory Outlets Centers, Inc. was the first REIT focused solely on outlets to be listed on the NYSE. It trades with the ticker SKT.
