Shopify Inc. is a Canadian multinational e-commerce company headquartered in Ottawa, Ontario, and operating internationally, mainly in the US, the UK, Canada, and Australia. The company runs a cloud-based platform that facilitates multi-channel subscription and merchant commerce for small and medium-sized businesses. The firm was founded in 2004.

Using the Shopify platform, businesses can easily manage their e-commerce activities, including inventory, payment processing, and order management. Shopify powers more than 1.7 million businesses worldwide, providing a platform that allows almost anyone to start, run and grow a retail based online business. The firm employs around 5,000 people across the globe.

The firm operates across two segments. The subscription solutions segment allows vendors to conduct e-commerce on a variety of platforms, including the company's website, physical stores, pop-up stores, kiosks, and via Amazon, as well as through social networks such as Facebook and Instagram. The firm also offers a merchant solutions segment that focuses on add-on products that support core e-commerce activities, such as Shopify Payments, Shopify Shipping, and Shopify Capital. The firm is listed on the NYSE where it trades under the stock ticker SHOP.
