ProShares is an American provider of investment management services that was founded in 1997. As of October 2020, the firm manages $44bn in client assets. The firm has headquarters in Bethesda, Maryland. The company offers a wide range of ETFs. ProShares has managed the ProShares UltraShort S&P 500 ETF since its creation in 2006.

Seeking to track the inverse of the daily performance of the S&P 500 Index, the ProShares UltraShort S&P 500 ETF is available on the NYSE Arca under the SDS ticker.
