Realty Income Corporation is a real estate investment trust (REIT). Operating internationally, the company primarily invests in free standing, single tenant commercial properties. Founded in 1969, Realty Income has headquarters in San Diego, California.

Realty Income primarily manages its properties under long-term net lease agreements. As of December 2021, the company owns and operates over 11,000 commercial properties, which they lease to approximately 650 clients across 60 industries. Realty Income owns and manages properties across 50 states within the United States, as well as Puerto Rico, Spain, and the United Kingdom. While the majority of the company's properties are leased to retail clients, Realty Income also owns industrial and agricultural properties.

Stock for Realty Income is listed on the NYSE under the ticker O. As of December 2021, the company is a member of the S&P 500 as well as the S&P 500 Dividend Aristocrats index. On 1 November 2021, Realty Income announced the completion of its merger with VEREIT, Inc., another real estate investment trust. Under the terms of the merger agreement, VEREIT stockholders were compensated with 0.705 shares of Realty Income common stock for each share of VEREIT common stock held. The deal is expected to strengthen Realty Income's position as a leading net lease REIT.
