NXP Semiconductors N.V. is a multinational semiconductor manufacturer with headquarters in Eindhoven in The Netherlands. The firm was founded in 2006 and primarily focuses on the development of product solutions that can be used in a range of end-market applications. Industries that the firm’s products are used in include automotive, personal security and identification, wireless and wireline infrastructure, mobile communications, and the industrial, consumer and computing markets.

The company operates in more than 30 different countries, employing around 29,000 people worldwide, and supplying a wide range of products. The firm’s products include audio amplifiers, in-vehicle networking products, various sensors and microcontrollers, and RF products for the cellular, automotive, industrial, and consumer markets. The company sells its products through various manufacturers and distributors, primarily to original equipment manufacturers in multiple industries.

The company’s customers include Apple, Bosch, Delphi, Ericsson, Nokia, Panasonic, Samsung, and Sony. NXP technology can be found in all types of manufactured products from car radios and automated driver assist systems, to laptop computers, wireless base stations, smartphones, and pachinko machines. The firm trades on the NASDAQ where it is listed under the stock ticker NXPI.
