Metropolitan Bank Holding Corporation is the holding company for Metropolitan Commercial Bank, a New York state-chartered bank. The company is based in New York City and, through its subsidiary, provides a variety of business, commercial and personal financial services via its full-service banking centres located in Manhattan; Boro Park, Brooklyn; and Great Neck, Long Island. Metropolitan Bank Holding Corporation was founded in 1999.

The bank aims to reach markets that are currently underserved by the ever-consolidating financial services industry, offering consumer-focused banking in the form of checking and saving accounts, digital banking and easy money transfers, as well as business-focused financial services such as commercial real estate financing, business loans and treasury management. Its clients can also access over 1 million ATMs worldwide. The bank’s typical clients are small businesses, middle-market enterprises, public entities and individuals in the New York metropolitan area.

Through its Global Payments Group, the company also provides global payments infrastructure to its FinTech partners. This includes serving as an issuing bank for third-party debit card programs nationwide. The company is listed on the on the NYSE, where it trades under the MCB stock ticker.
