Liberty Global A is an international telecommunication and entertainment company based in London, England. The firm is engaged in the provision of broadband Internet, video, fixed-line telephony and mobile communications services to residential and commercial customers throughout the United Kingdom and within the rest of Europe. The company is also the largest international TV and broadband company in the world with operations in the UK, Europe and North America. The firm was founded in 2004.

The company operates under various brand names in different countries, including Virgin Media-O2, in the United Kingdom and Ireland, Telenet, in Belgium, Sunrise UPC in Switzerland, and UPC in Eastern Europe. The firm owns an interest in VodafoneZiggo JV, which operates in the Netherlands, and strategic stakes in various TV and entertainment companies including ITV, Lionsgate, and Univision.

The firm’s global investment arm, Liberty Global Ventures, has investments in more than 75 companies and funds, with a focus on content creation and distribution, technology and infrastructure. The company’s Class A Ordinary shares are traded on the NASDAQ under the stock ticker LBTYA. Class A ordinary shares refer to common stocks with voting rights.
