Kratos Defense & Security Solutions Inc is an American military defence and security manufacturing company with a focus on advanced weapons systems, contract vehicles, unmanned systems, satellite communications, cyber security, missile defence, hypersonic systems, training, and combat systems. Operating globally, the firm is headquartered in San Diego, California, and was founded in 1995.

The firm supplies a range of customers related to the United States National Security forces and its allies, as well as commercial enterprises around the world. Key direct customers are the US Army, US Navy, and US Air Force. Kratos also supplies technology systems, engineering, and other technical services to federal intelligence agencies and state and local agencies.

The firm operates through a number of specialised subsidiary companies, including Kratos Communications, Inc., Madison Research Corporation, Reality Based IT Services, Ltd., Kratos Public Safety & Security Solutions, Inc., and Avtec Systems Inc. In 2021, one of the firm’s subsidiaries, Kratos Unmanned Aerial Systems, received a $338m sole source contract award to produce target drones for the US Air Force. The firm is listed on the NASDAQ and trades under the ticker KTOS.
