What Is Kronos Worldwide Inc?
Kronos Worldwide, Inc. is an international company headquartered in Dallas, Texas, with production facilities in the USA, Canada, and Europe, along with distributors around the world. The firm is engaged in the production and marketing of titanium dioxide pigments (TiO2), a base industrial product used in a range of applications. The company was originally founded in 1916.

The firm’s clients include paint, plastics, decorative laminate and paper manufacturers, in the domestic and international markets. Titanium dioxide is also used in products such as toothpaste, sunscreen, and various cosmetic products. The company’s international distribution network has a production capacity of over 555,000 tons. The firm also provides technical services for its products.

Kronos pioneered chloride processing technology as a lower-cost, more efficient and safer method for processing TiO2 and is one of only five producers worldwide with its own proprietary chloride process technology. This greatly reduces effluent waste treatment requirements and increases efficiency in the use of energy and manpower resources. Kronos Worldwide, Inc. is a subsidiary of Valhi, Inc. The firm trades on the NYSE where it is listed under the stock ticker KRO.
