Launched on 22 May 2000, its specific role is to trace and observe investment results that comprise its benchmark, the Russell 1000 Growth Index, which in turn is made up of US equities on the large- and mid-sized range that show signs of expansion.

iShares Russell 1000 Growth ETF aims to invest mostly in the securities that make up its benchmark, the Russell 1000 Growth Index, as well as in securities with similar economic traits as those in the index. This enables interested investors to observe US companies that show signs of growth exceeding average market rates. iShares Russell 1000 Growth ETF thus trains investors’ focus onto a clearly defined category of American stocks and presents them with the option of pointing their portfolio towards stocks whose market values are observed to be increasing. The top sectors in which iShares Russell 1000 Growth ETF operates are information technology, consumer discretionary, communication, healthcare, industrials, consumer staples, financials, real estate, materials, energy, cash and/or derivatives, and utilities. Its base currency is the US dollar.
