Intercontinental Exchange Inc is an American Fortune 500 company that provides marketplace infrastructure, data services and technology solutions. Founded in 2000, the firm operates global exchanges and clearing houses while also offering mortgage technology, data and listing services. Intercontinental Exchange Inc has its headquarters in Atlanta, Georgia.

The company operates through three segments: Exchanges, Fixed Income and Data Services, and Mortgage Technology. The firm owns exchanges for financial and commodity markets, and manages 12 regulated exchanges and marketplaces, mainly serving financial institutions, corporations and government entities. Intercontinental Exchange Inc company led the way in the digitisation of exchanges, starting by digitising energy exchanges to create greater price transparency.

The Fixed Income and Data Services segment of the company deals with fixed income data and analytics offerings, along with fixed income execution and other related data and network services. The firm’s Mortgage Technology segment comprises of its subsidiaries MERS, Simplifile and Ellie Mae mortgage services, which provide mortgage technology solutions for the residential mortgage market within the United States. The firm is listed on the NYSE, where it trades under the stock ticker ICE.
