What Is East West Bancorp Inc.?
East West Bancorp Inc is a bank holding company for East West Bank, the leading bank serving the Asian community in the US. Founded in 1973 and headquartered in Pasadena, California, the bank has more than 125 locations in the US and China. It is a full-service commercial bank and one of the few US banks with a full banking license in China.

The firm launched as a public company in 1998, in an unusual deal whereby the company bypassed a traditional IPO. It registered previously sold private shares, which had been sold for $238m, as publicly traded, effectively making the bank a public company. East West Bancorp Inc is listed on the NASDAQ CM with the ticker EWBC. As of December 2020, the EWBC price chart showed a 52-week low of $22.55 and a 52-week high of $51.88, with a dividend yield of 2.36%.

The bank has representative offices in Beijing, Chongqing, Guangzhou, and Xiamen, as well as other full-service branches throughout China. East West Bancorp's many years of cross-border and cross-cultural banking experience has put the organisation in a strong position to serve customers within the immigrant Chinese-American community.
