What Is Evergy Inc?
Evergy Inc is an American energy company that operates through its subsidiaries to provide clean, safe, and reliable energy for its customers. It was founded in 2018 and has its headquarters in Kansas City, Missouri. It generates, distributes, and sells electricity within counties in Kansas and Missouri.

Evergy is an investor-owned utility company created through the merger of Kansas City Power & Light Company (KCP&L) and Westar Energy, Inc to become a leading company in providing sustainable energy. The company creates more efficient energy with less impact to the environment by having half of its power supplied from clean sources. The company owns approximately 15,400 megawatts of generating capacity.

Evergy operates through its wholly owned subsidiaries, including Evergy Kansas Central, Inc., Every Metro, Inc., Evergy Missouri West, and Evergy Transmission Company, LLC. All of them are integrated electric utilities that provide electricity to its resident customers in Kansas and Missouri. The company's operations include development of other electric transmission projects to further improve its electricity output. It trades on the NYSE, where it has been publicly listed since 2020 under the stock ticker EVRG.
