Danimer Scientific, Inc., formerly known as Meredian Holdings Group Inc., is an American biopolymer manufacturer with its headquarters in Bainbridge, Georgia. The firm is engaged in creating more sustainable, natural ways to make plastic products, with a focus on renewable and sustainable biopolymers which can be used to create plastic products that are biodegradable and compostable. The firm was established in 2004.

The firm’s biopolymers are used to produce a wide array of products such as aqueous coatings, fibres, filaments, films, hot-melt adhesives, and injection-moulded articles. The technology produced by Danimer has led to a reduced dependency on petrochemical manufacturing and a range of plastic products that biodegrade in a much shorter time frame than regular plastic. The firm’s bioplastics are FDA approved for food contact and adhere to ASTM and EN requirements.

The firm’s products include PHA-based resins and PLA-based resins made from dextrose sugar that is derived from corn, sugar beets and sugar cane, which are sold under the Nodax brand. The company owns more than 150 patents in nearly 20 countries for a range of manufacturing processes and biopolymer formulations. The firm is listed on the NYSE under the ticker DNMR.
