What Is Dada Nexus Limited?
Dada Nexus Ltd is a Chinese online retail company. The firm operates within China and is one of the country’s largest local on-demand retail and delivery platforms. It serves brands, merchants, and individuals across a wide range of industries and product categories. The company is headquartered in Shanghai and was founded in August 2014.

The firm launched as a public company in May 2020 with a $500m IPO and is listed on the NASDAQ GS, trading under the ticker DADA. In December 2020, the DADA share price showed a 52-week range of $14.60 to $61.27, with a market cap of $9.64bn. In June 2020, US retail giant Walmart disclosed that it had invested heavily in Dada shares during the IPO and holds a 10.7% stake in the company, worth more than $2bn.

Dada Nexus operates two complimentary and inter-connected platforms. The JD-Daojia (JDDJ) platform is the online retail platform, and Dada Now provides order fulfilment solutions and an on-demand delivery infrastructure. The Dada Now platform supplies on-demand order fulfilment for the JDDJ platform, while the JDDJ platform provides a vast amount of on-demand delivery orders, which increases order volume and turnover for the Dada Now platform.
