What Is Columbia Sportswear Company?
Columbia Sportswear Co is engaged in the manufacture, sourcing, and distribution of specialised sportswear, footwear, and equipment. In particular, it focuses on outdoor sports, including ski apparel, camping equipment, and outerwear accessories. Founded in 1937, the company is based in Portland, Oregon. Columbia Sportswear Co serves a worldwide audience, with operations divided into four geographic segments, covering the US; Latin America and Asia Pacific; Canada; and Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

The company was launched on the NASDAQ GS in 1998 and trades under the ticker COLM. In December 2020, the COLM share price showed a 52-week range of $51.82 to $102.05. Columbia Sportwear has previously implemented a stock split on two occasions: a 3-for-2 stock split on 5th June, 2001, and a 2-for-1 stock split on 26th September, 2014.

In 2017, Columbia Sportswear Co launched an innovative line of eco-conscious outdoor gear, OutDry Extreme, designed to provide wearers with the conditions for maximum performance with a minimal environmental impact. In 2018, the company served as outfitter and sponsor to several international freestyle ski teams at the PyeongChang Winter Olympics.
