Confluent, Inc. is a software developer that engages in the provision of a cloud-native platform that establishes the continuous flow of data. The company was incorporated in 2014 and has its headquarters in Mountain View, California. Confluent operates internationally and has various locations throughout the United States. The company’s international office locations include London, France, Bangalore, Hong Kong, and Sydney.

Formerly known as Infinitem, Inc., the Confluent platform helps to connect business applications around real-time streams. Confluent’s products include Apache Kafka, Confluent Cloud, ksqlIDB, and Confluent Hub. Apache Kafka is a community distributed event streaming platform and ksqlIDB allows users to construct real-time applications. The company provides training to clients, which includes certification programmes, professional services, and tools. Confluent provides its services to the finance, gaming, government, manufacturing, media, retail, and eCommerce sectors. The company has a strategic alliance with Microsoft.

Confluent held its IPO on 24 June 2021. The company priced 23 million shares at $36 per share, which was above the expected range of between $29 and $33. Confluent raised $828m with its initial public offering giving them a valuation of approximately $9bn on floating. The company uses the CFLT stock ticker on the NASDAQ.
