Operating internationally, the company's products are primarily sold under the Chester, Qualy, Sadia, Perdigo, Kidelli, Perdix, and Banvit brands, among others. Founded in 1934, BRF has its headquarters in Itajai, Brazil.
Formerly known as BRF-Brasil Foods S.A., the company changed its name to BRF S.A. in April 2013. BRF S.A. operates through five segments, including: Brazil, Africa, Latin America (LATAM), Middle East and North of Africa (MENA), and Other. Each of these segments is further divided into poultry, pork and other, processed, and other sales. The poultry and pork divisions include the production and sale of the respective meats, while the processed operations include the production and sale of frozen and processed foods. Under the other category, the company offers flour, beef cuts, agricultural products, and animal feed.
BRF S.A. stock is listed on the NYSE under the ticker BRFS. In addition to its food offerings, the company also supplies consultancy, marketing, and logistics services, as well as the commercialisation of electric energy and the import of products. In June 2021, BRF S.A. acquired two pet food companies: Mogiana Alimentos and Hercosul.
