BHP Group Ltd is an international resource company headquartered in Melbourne, Australia. The (BHP) Broken Hill Proprietary Company Limited was incorporated in 1985. The company is engaged in operations in the mineral exploration sector, mining coal, iron ore, gold, titanium and nickel, as well as petroleum production.

As a global business, BHP lists 80,000 staff and contractors in 2022 in Australia and the Americas on the payroll.
