What Is AUS200 Index (Non Expiry)?
Founded in the year 2000, the AUS200 index is the blue-chip Australian stock market index, that tracks the value of 200 of Australia’s largest public companies by market capitalisation. The value of these companies is based on their market cap, and altogether they comprise over 80% of Australia’s market capitalisation. Only companies registered with the Australian Stock Exchange, and those meeting liquidity requirements, can qualify for the AUS200. Daily changes in the index are in points or percentages, and every few months, the index performs a “rebalancing,” to add new companies that meet the requirements, and remove companies that no longer do so.
