ANSYS, Inc. is a software and programming company that develops and markets engineering simulation software and related services. Founded by John A. Swanson in 1970, the company is headquartered in Canonsburg, Pennsylvania, and operates internationally.

The company’s geographical segments include the United States, Japan, Germany, South Korea, France, China, Other EMEA, and Other International. ANSYS provides automotive, aerospace and defence, construction, energy, material and chemical processing, and electrification solutions, among other services. Its engineering simulations aim to predict how products will behave and how manufacturing processes will operate in actual, real-world settings. These simulations enable the company’s customers to predict product outcomes and successes, helping to establish lower development costs and reduce time before production completion. Customers can perform analyses directly on their computers.

The ANSYS product portfolio includes ANSYS Workbench, Structures, Fluids, Electronics, Semiconductors, Multiphysics, Embedded Software, and Three-dimensional (3D) Design and Optical. The Fluid product suite allows customers to model fluid flows and other associated physical occurrences. The field simulation software helps with the design of electronic and electromechanical software. The SCADE product suite manages embedded software simulations, coding, and automated certifications. ANSYS trades on the NASDAQ under the ANSS ticker.
