Alerian MLP ETF AMLP

Alerian MLP ETF is one of the indices launched by Alerian, a Dallas-based company that provides master limited partnerships (MLP) and energy infrastructure index to various professionals within the industrial ecosystem. These professionals use the analytics to gauge the performance of their industries and help them improve. The fund was established in 2010 with the goal to gather investment results that are in tune with the prices and expenses as well as the results of the company’s underlying index, the Alerian MLP Infrastructure Index.

Alerian MLP ETF is a non-diversified type of exchange traded fund that focuses on normal investments, investing a minimum of 90 percent of a company’s total assets in securities that include the underlying index. This index depends on energy commodities for much of its cash flow including storage, transportation, and other energy commodities. It uses USD as its base currency.

Alerian MLP ETF trades publicly on the NYSE under the stock ticker AMLP. The ETF holds mostly US large- and mid-cap energy stocks and invests in companies that mainly earn their cash flow from energy processing, transportation, storage, and related commodities.
