What Is Vanguard Short-Term Corporate?
The Vanguard Short-Term Corporate Bond is an ETF or exchange traded fund. ETFs give investors the opportunity to access a wide selection of bonds in one fund, with a good level of flexibility. The fund is administered by the Vanguard Fixed Income Group, which is based in Valley Forge, Pennsylvania. The fund’s inception date was 19 November 2009. The objective of the Vanguard Short-Term Corporate Bond is to provide current income with modest fluctuation in price. It offers low fees and a widely diversified portfolio.

The passively managed fund replicates the Bloomberg Barclays US 1-5 Year Corporate Bond Index. This index is market-value weighted and includes US investment-grade corporates with from 1-5 years remaining to maturity. Investment-grade bonds offer a degree of stability in case of a downturn in the equities market. At least 80% of the fund’s assets are invested in corporate bonds within this index.

The Vanguard Short-Term Corporate Bond trades on the NASDAQ using the ticker VCSH. Interest rate sensitivity is rated as limited. The base currency for this fund is USD.
