What Is Oceaneering International?
Oceaneering International, Inc. is one of the world's largest underwater service contract providers, primarily engaged in the supply of engineered products and services to a range of industries, including offshore oil and gas, aerospace, defence and theme park operators. The company was founded in 1964 and has its headquarters in Houston, Texas. While it is primarily active within the US, it also has operations in Brazil, India, Angola and Australia.

The firm caters mainly to clients within the oil and gas industry, manufacturing remotely operated vehicles and specialty subsea hardware used to control hydrocarbon flow from subsea wellheads. In addition, the company offers related services to the same industry, such as subsea hardware installation and repair and third-party asset safety inspections. The firm is also involved in the provision of advanced engineering services to US governmental agencies and the commercial theme park industry.

The company operates an Offshore Projects Group (OPG) mainly engaged in providing a suite of integrated subsea project capabilities and solutions related to its core business, such as seabed preparation, route clearance and trenching services. Oceaneering International trades on the NYSE under the stock ticker OII.
