What Is DoorDash Inc?
DoorDash operates a logistics platform connecting consumers with merchants and delivery staff. Founded in 2013, the company are headquartered in San Francisco, California. Operating internationally, the organisation facilitates door to door delivery of food from local restaurants through its DoorDash marketplace. The company makes use of independent contractors to act as delivery drivers.

DoorDash held its IPO on December the 8th 2020. The company generated over $3.37bn by going public, selling 33 million shares at a price of $102 per share. The firm's stock is listed on the NYSE using the DASH ticker. During the first nine months of 2020, the company more than tripled its sales over the same period in 2019, with the closure of restaurants and reduction in eat-in options due to the coronavirus pandemic cited as the reason for the growth.

As of December 2020, DoorDash is the largest food delivery company in the US working with restaurants that do not employ their own delivery staff. The DoorDash marketplace platform provides a range of services to assist merchants, including insights and analytics, delivery, payment processing, merchandising and customer support. The DoorDash title was adopted in 2015. As of December 2020, DoorDash has offices across the US, Puerto Rico, Canada, and Australia.
