Supporting female Popular Investors: Lori Souza

In honor of Women’s History Month, we wanted to find out more about our female Popular Investors and the impact they make on our community. Learn more about Lori Souza in this Q&A.

Q: You have thousands of people following you on eToro. How does it feel?

A: Thank you. I guess I don’t think about it that way. I don’t look at it as giving advice; I’m providing education about the Crypto market and how it differs from the stock market. It could be more volatile and risky to invest in crypto.

Q: What does it mean to you to empower women to invest?

A: I like to empower women and hope to lead by example. Investing can be scary, but to gain confidence, you have to believe in what you are doing. If you want to gain confidence, you just have to give it a try, start small, and ask questions!

Q: Investing was primarily a male-dominant industry. Why do you think that dynamic is changing?

A: I believe we’re seeing more gender equality with the digital age when it comes to making money. Also, the Internet has given so many people easier access to not only information, but also arenas to make money.

Q: What are you most hopeful about when it comes to women in the investing space?

A: I am hopeful that women will see the value of investing online as a means to build personal wealth for their future and their families’ futures!

Q: Why would you encourage other women to consider becoming a Popular Investor on eToro?

A: eToro is a wonderful social investing program, and it makes investing fun!

Q: What are your top tips for female investors, or those who want to start investing?

A: Do your research and just start investing! Also, leave emotions out of it. Think long-term insurance; short-term investments could bring too many emotions and volatility to the table.
