Experience

  • Mati’s investing journey began in 1999 when he discovered “The Intelligent Investor” by Benjamin Graham and Warren Buffett’s partnership letters. He learned the importance of value investing from his father-in-law and had the opportunity to meet Warren Buffett. 
  • Inspired by this experience, Mati pursued value investing full-time and created the first Israeli online value investment blog in 2005. He achieved high returns and outperformed the S&P 500. 
  • In 2009, Mati was approached by Alumot Mutual Fund Management Ltd. to establish a new trust fund partnership, where he served as the research and security analysis consultant.
  • During Mati’s tenure, the “Alumot Value Fund” ranked among the top 7 out of hundreds of funds in the “overseas equity funds” category. In Israel, it placed second in assets under management and first in three-year performance, as reported by Globes and Calcalist newspapers.
