Remember when stock brokers used to yell in the pit?

Good thing that’s ancient history.

At eToro, any action you want to take is just a mouse-click away.

In this video we’re going to talk about closing your positions.

Remember, that doesn’t necessarily mean selling, it means letting go of that position.

When closing a position you can choose from two options: permanent and partial.

Permanent, or regular closure, is for when you’re ready to bid farewell to an asset.

We’ve made sure it’s quick and painless.

Just click on the ‘Close Trade’ button.

Keep in mind there’s no second warning.

Once you click it, it’s closed.

If you have multiple positions under a specific asset, you can use the close all button.

If you want to close a part of the position but not all of it, go for partial closure.

Choose exactly how much to take out and how much to keep, and make sure both amounts are at least the minimum position size in that asset’s trade category.

The money you take out will be transferred directly to your eToro account balance.

Did you know there are more than 24 time zones around the world?

Naturally, each market has its own hours of operation.

So what happens if you choose to close a position in a market that’s currently closed?

Not a problem.

The position will move into a pending close state, and your close order will be executed once the market opens.

And if you change your mind before the market opens, you can always cancel the order.

Closing a position within a copy relationship works exactly the same.

Just find the asset you want to close, and choose the type of closure you want.

That’s it.

Now you’ve learned everything you need to know about the art of letting go.

Of open positions, that is.

Thanks for watching, and see you on eToro.
